Welcome to the Codford parish website

The Codford area has had a long history with Anzac soldiers and during World War I large training and transfer camps were established for the tens of thousands of troops waiting to move to France. Codford also became a depot in 1916 for the men who had been evacuated from the front line and were not fit to return to the front.

Codford lies in the centre of the beautiful Wylye Valley, between Salisbury and Bath. We have a range of local facilities including shop, post office, Doctors surgery, primary school, pre-school and bar as well as regular seasonal events including the popular ploughman’s lunches to support local community groups and churches and Artisan Markets to help support local small businesses.
